Christian Scientists and Innovators

(at the Forefront of Discovery)

The egalitarian message of Christ created a Western culture of intellectual freedom that inspired today's society of literacy, science and innovation.

Every single scientific concept mentioned within this website was originally theorized by individuals who believe in a universe that was designed by a creator. The godfathers of science and quantum theory all had faith in God. It was their spiritually inspired visions, works and open-minded thinking that advanced our World society. This webpage will detail many of these revolutionary individuals.

Our current era of breakneck technology and scientific advancement is easy to take for granted as Western popular culture has forgotten the origin of its success. While the human race has existed on Earth for thousands of years, it wasn't until modern Christian societies inspired wide-spread societal literacy. It was this scholarly change across the emerging Western world that a monumental scientific advancement occurred. It was this transformation over the last couple of centuries that allowed the human civilization to transition into today's egalitarian high-technology society.

A 2009 Pew poll administered within the greater scientific community revealed that 51% of scientists still believe in God or a higher power. While a minority of those surveyed, at 41%, do not...

Unfortunately, the prevailing secular academic community unwittingly considers Christianity as a cancer to scientific progress. I personally witnessed this wide-spread bias when majoring in anthropology at a large liberal arts university. This materialistic bias is so strong, most academic faculty members arrogantly consider any evidence for the intelligent design of the universe as unworthy of discussion or debate. This bias is full-blown intellectual and scientific censorship!

Ironically, this atheistic hubris continues in an era when quantum mechanics is mathematically exposing the existence of the UNSEEN multidimensional universe. Bible skeptics also ignore the reality that Max Planck, the originator of quantum theory, was in fact a devout Christian.

As further science progresses, evidence from quantum mechanics will continue to reveal the reality of the unseen multidimensional spiritual world described throughout the Bible. This fact makes one wonder... Is there an atheist or agnostic academic who can explain the reality of the invisible dimensions and quantum entanglements that are mathematically proven to exist? Obviously not!

It has been hotly debated whether Albert Einstein (1879-1955) believed in God? Here is a link to an article that gives a fairly brief, yet Jewish inspired explanation. It reiterates that many in the media and secular scientific community would like us to think that Einstein did not believe in God, yet this was simply not true.

Einstein always researched and admired the divine order and design of the universe as if there was a conscious creator. Though he was not a religious person, as he apparently did not connect his scientific understanding to the human and moral ethos found in Judeo-Christian philosophy, he did, however, believe in intelligent design.

Over time Einstein realized that quantum mechanics is incrementally exposing the totality of a Universe that is not random, but by design. This was evidenced by Einstein who wrote at length about discoveries that point to a universe that works like a cosmic symphony resonating through a nirvana of an intelligent designer.

Albert Einstein once said something very profound:

“The Universe could have been chaotic, random and ugly,

—and yet we have this gorgeous synthesis at the origin of the universe itself, giving birth to the galaxies, the planets, DNA, life...

The harmony I see could not have been an accident.”

-Albert Einstein

The renowned physicist, Max Planck (1858-1947), is considered the godfather of modern physics and quantum mechanics. It was his revelations in the early 20th century that leads the science world to now view him as the originator of quantum theory, which revolutionized mankind's understanding of subatomic processes. Planck's prolific concepts led to the discovery of the vast multidimensional universe. He admittedly used his Christian faith as his primary scientific inspiration.

Max Planck is a prime example that the science of quantum physics has been inspired by those who find guidance from their faith in the Scriptures.

“Both religion and science need for their activities the belief in God,

and moreover God stands for the former (religion) in the beginning,

and for the latter (science) at the end of the whole thinking.

For the former, God represents the basis, for the latter

– the crown of any reasoning concerning the world-view.” -Max Planck

In 1913, Niels Bohr proposed a groundbreaking quantum theory concept for the hydrogen atom.   He realized that electrons move around a nucleus, but only in prescribed orbits, and If electrons jump to a lower-energy orbit, the difference is sent out as radiation. Recognition of his work on the structure of atoms came with the award of the Nobel Prize for 1922.

"Stop telling God what to do with his dice.

The meaning of life consists in the fact

that it makes no sense to say that life has no meaning.”

“Every great and deep difficulty bears in itself it's own solution.

It forces us to change our thinking in order to find it.” -Niels Bohr

Secular media pundits and the academic bureaucrats that increasingly control our public universities wrongly belittle and censor the vast contributions that Christian scientists have made throughout history. In reality, Christian scientists and theologians are the true founders of modern science and their discoveries fostered today's Western world. The vast majority of the great scientists in history were Christians. This includes the godfathers of modern science: Isaac Newton, Galileo, Johannes Kepler, Nicolaus Copernicus, as well as other more recent scientific icons like Gregor Mendel, Michael Faraday, Bernhard Riemann, Georges Lemaître and Lord Joseph Lister.

“I am a believer in the fundamental doctrines of Christianity.” -Lord Joseph Lister

Aside from the popular icons in science mentioned above, the surnames of many other Christian scientists represent the founders and today's terminology in the field of their important discoveries.  This would include people like Alessandro Volta (volts), Andre Marie Ampere (amps). Interestingly, our popular temperature classifications were all named by Christians like Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, Anders Celsius and Lord Kelvin. This narrative is common across all realms of modern technology.

Do not be afraid of being free thinkers. If you think strongly enough you will be forced by science to the belief in God -Lord Kelvin

The pioneer of agricultural chemistry was the famous African American George Washington Carver.

“The Lord has guided me. He has shown me the way,

just as he will show everyone who turns to Him.” -George Washington Carver

The renowned aerospace engineer who fled Nazi Germany to become the pioneer of rocket and space technology in the United States was Werner von Braun.

An outlook… at the vast mysteries of the universe should only confirm

our belief in the certainty of its Creator. -Werner von Braun

Considered by many scholars as the greatest legal expert in the long history of Great Britain,

John Copley, 1st Baron Lyndhurst (1772 - 1863) was a British lawyer and politician. At Cambridge university, he was second wrangler and fellow of Trinity. Aside from being Britain's solicitor-general, he also impressively served as Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain on three separate occasions.

I know pretty well what evidence is...

And I tell you such evidence as that for the resurrection of Jesus Christ

has never broken down yet. -John Copley, 1st Baron Lyndhurst

Leonardo da Vinci was so accomplished, he is considered a polymath. He is known to have painted many of the most famous Christian images in history. His interests included invention, drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture, science, music, mathematics, engineering, literature, anatomy, geology, astronomy, botany, paleontology and cartography. He has been referred to as the father of palaeontology, ichnology, and architecture, and is viewed as one of the greatest painters of all time.

“Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art.” -Leonardo da Vinci

Known for his iconic contributions during the Italian Renaissance, many consider Michelangelo as the greatest artist of all time. As a sculptor, painter, architect and poet, he is recognized by most as the original Renaissance man. He devoted much of his work to his Christian faith.

I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free. -Michelangelo

Below is a link to an impressive list of known Scientists who publicly proclaimed their faith. Obviously, this list does not represent all of the important Christians in the world of science, but within this list are the individuals who made profound contributions to the many scientific fields and our present high-technology society.
